چکیده

Combinatorial test design (CTD) is an effective test design technique, considered to be a testing best practice. CTD provides automatic test plan generation, but it requires a manual definition of the test space in the form of a combinatorial model. As the system under test evolves, e.g., due to iterative development processes and bug fixing, so does the test space, and thus, in the context of CTD, evolution translates into frequent manual model definition updates. In this work, we show that the Boolean semantics currently in use by CTD tools to interpret the model is inadequate for combinatorial model evolution, and propose to replace it with a new lattice-based semantics that (1) provides a consistent interpretation of atomic changes to the model via Galois connections, and (2) exposes which additional parts of the model must change following an atomic change, in order to restore validity. We further use the new lattice-based semantics to define new higher-level atomic operations for combinatorial model evolution. Finally, we identify recurring abstraction and refinement patterns in the evolution of 42 real-world industrial models, and use the new lattice-based semantics to define new higher-level atomic constructs that encapsulate these patterns. The proposed lattice-based semantics and related new modeling constructs advance the state-of-the-art in CTD with a new foundation for model evolution and with better tools for change comprehension and

Buoyancy Term Evolution in the Multi Relaxation Time Model of Lattice Boltzmann Method with Variable Thermal Conductivity Using a Modified Set of Boundary Conditions

During the last few years, a number of numerical boundary condition schemes have been used to study various aspects of the no-slip wall condition using the lattice Boltzmann method. In this paper, a modified boundary condition method is employed to simulate the no-slip wall condition in the presence of the body force term near the wall. These conditions are based on the idea of the bounce-back ...

A Novel Image Encryption Model Based on Hybridization of Genetic Algorithm, Chaos Theory and Lattice Map

Encryption is an important issue in information security which is usually provided using a reversible mathematical model. Digital image as a most frequently used digital product needs special encryption algorithms. This paper presents a new encryption algorithm high security for digital gray images using genetic algorithm and Lattice Map function. At the first the initial value of Logistic Map ...

A duality between LM-fuzzy possibility computations and their logical semantics

Let X be a dcpo and let L be a complete lattice. The family σL(X) of all Scott continuous mappings from X to L is a complete lattice under pointwise order, we call it the L-fuzzy Scott structure on X. Let E be a dcpo. A mapping g : σL(E) −> M is called an LM-fuzzy possibility valuation of E if it preserves arbitrary unions. Denote by πLM(E) the set of all LM-fuzzy possibility valuations of E. T...

A new metaheuristic genetic-based placement algorithm for 2D strip packing

Given a container of fixed width, infinite height and a set of rectangular block, the 2D-strip packing problem consists of orthogonally placing all the rectangles such that the height is minimized. The position is subject to confinement of no overlapping of blocks. The problem is a complex NP-hard combinatorial optimization, thus a heuristic based on genetic algorithm is proposed to solve it. I...

Dynamic Categorization of Semantics of Fashion Language: A Memetic Approach

Categories are not invariant. This paper attempts to explore the dynamic nature of semantic category, in particular, that of fashion language, based on the cognitive theory of Dawkins’ memetics, a new theory of cultural evolution. Semantic attributes of linguistic memes decrease or proliferate in replication and spreading, which involves a dynamic development of semantic category. More specific...
